Grades 6–8. During this unit students work to answer the question, "How do living things heal?" They investigate what the different parts of the human body are made of (from macro to micro scale), develop an understanding of cells and how cells work together, and learn about the biological process of healing after injury. Finally, students apply what they've learned to explain how growth happens to the bones at the growth plates in children's bodies.
